New Sunday Marshfield Road Runners Training Routes

Beginning May 7, 2006

8:45 AM Start (as always) on Sunday Morning from the Martinson School Parking Lot

Changing 30+ year old traditions for MRRers is very, very hard to do.   In fact we had to inaugurate the routes before our snow bird guru, Herb Baker, returned from wintering in Florida.  Herb had a good point, that we "hadn't lost a runner in over 30 years."  But, the Town of Marshfield has grown so much in those years that the traffic on Rt. 139 and on Union Street was getting too dangerous. So, the Club put together a new route committee under Dan Heitzman's guidance, and they came up with excellent new routes.  They takes us into the less traveled and quieter parts of Marshfield, and the increased hill training will give us more character.

5.0 miles: Martinson to Furnace to Clay Pit to Stonybrook/Telegraph Hill and BACK: or Martinson to Furnace to Clay Pit to Grove/Ferry and BACK.  The former is hillier and the latter is flatter.
