Each Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm starting early June and running
for 8 weeks at the Martinson Elementary School
on Forest ST. On the odd weeks, kids do a 50YD, 220YD and half mile; adults
do a mile. On even weeks, kids do 100YD, 440YD and mile; adults do a 5K. The
kids are split into group by age into two-year increments and sex. The first
group is the 3&4 year old girls in the 50, followed by the
3&4-year-old boys in the 50. We continue in this way up through high
school age. The adult event usually starts between 7 and 7:15 PM.
Entry is free, but a jar is put out if you would like to make a donation to
help us defray the costs of refreshments and ribbons.
Award ribbons are given to all children participating and we provide free
refreshments. Records are kept and the names of the first three in each
event are published in the Marshfield Mariner newspaper.
