What is the Marshfield Cultural Council? The Marshfield Cultural Council is one of 335 local councils (LCC's) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. These councils are administered by the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), a statewide organization. What is the mission of the Cultural Council? According to the state handbook, "The mission of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and its local council partners is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences, in order to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our communities. What does the local cultural council do? Each year, the Massachusetts Cultural Council allocates funds to communities. Local cultural councils (LCCs) regrant these state funds to individuals, schools, and nonprofit organizations in their own communities. Members of the local council meet to review, discuss, and approve applications. Who is on the Marshfield Cultural Council? The current members of the Marshfield Cultural Council are:

LCC members are appointed by the selectmen for a 3 year term. The MCC permits
members to serve for two consecutive terms. The MCC also requires new members to attend
an MCC sponsored training session.
